Jigar Moradabadi ( 1890 - 1960 ) was a very well known Indian Urdu poet . His real name was Ali Sikandar. He did not receive any formal education but learnt Persian at the initial stage and English at the level of his matriculation.
His first collection Daagh-e-Jigar was published in 1928 followed by Shola-i-Toor in 1932. His third collection Aatish-e-Gul appeared in 1954.

He actively contributes behind the screen contents such as scripts and voice overs as well as appears in various TV talk shows on local Urdu TV channels in UK.
A number of his voice overs of Urdu short stories and poetry were followed and shared by millions fans.
He is a well known Urdu poet and writer.
His research and informative book "National Anthem Farsi Ya Urdu" has been highly appreciated nationally and internationally.
He has been awarded numerous honors in different countries for his service to literature and Urdu. Including two high civil honors from the Hong Kong government.
