A Lok Sabha MP who’s party the Mizo National Front is a member of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance and who voted against the Modi government in yesterday’s No Confidence Motion, says that the entire North East and, particularly, the tribal communities feel “let down” by Prime Minister Modi. Mr. C. Lalrosanga said that Mr. Modi should have spoken about the crisis in Manipur at the very start of his speech and before raising any other issues. Instead, Mr. Modi only spoke about Manipur after 90 minutes and that too, according to the Calcutta paper The Telegraph, for five minutes in the first instance and thirty seconds in the second.
