The eastern front represented the most important war theater of the Second World War, as well as a fundamental scenario that decided, in the years between 1941 and 1945, the conflict in Europe. At the end of the conflict, the Soviet Union rose to the rank of superpower, both industrial and military, with the de facto occupation of Eastern Europe, the Baltic States and the partition of Europe foreshadowed at the Yalta Conference in February 1945.
