Historic Whittier Boulevard Lowriders 01/01/2024 Alaniz Beatz

The new year is here and with that comes this Historic Whittier Blvd lowriders cruising in celebration of the lift on the ban on cruising! This ban was lifted state wide and in doing so, all of California lowriders took this day to bring in the new year in style. The day started off over at Montebello park early in the morning. I arrived a little bit before 10 am and things were already active.

Not long after I arrived, my bro Dj Funk and Angel One arrived and the 3 of us wasted no time in getting to work. Our game-plan was to cover the activities at Montebello Park and from there head out early to the Whittier Boulevard Arch where the many were anticipating a flood of cruisers. Shortly after arriving at the arch and setting up our equipment, the low lows came flooding the boulevard.

This was definitely a sight to see and quite a historic day to have it all go down. While the excitement was running high, there was a big presence of law enforcement. We were told that anyone hitting switches would be given citations. This rubbed me the wrong way because somehow, someway “they” were going to find ways to nit pick.
