An FIR has been lodged against singers Ankit Tiwari, Akriti Kakkar, Shilpa Rao and Ankit’s manager Ankur Tiwari at Oshiwara Polica station, Mumbai for allegedly cheating a US based event management firm.
According reports, the complainant, Deep Kumar Vora, claims in the FIR that he got in touch with Ankit Tiwari two years ago and the singer was roped in to do a show for them with Akriti Kakkar. But once the money was paid to them, there has been no performance neither the singers have responded.
In fact a sum of Rs 30 lakhs was paid to the firm Brotherhood Entertainment, co-owned by Ankur Tiwari and Shilpa Rao.
Deep said that it was after that he was compelled to file an FIR against them.
Inspector Arjun Rajane of Oshiwara police station said, “We will be calling them for a statement soon. The singers are not in town right now but they have been summoned.”
