Zelensky Questions Russian Transparency Ahead of Possible Peace Talks in Turkey

In his latest address, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed deep skepticism about Russia's sincerity ahead of potential peace negotiations in Turkey, stating that neither Ukraine nor Turkish officials have seen the so-called Russian "memorandum" mentioned by Moscow. Describing Russia’s behavior as "absolutely bizarre" and "diplomatically inadequate," Zelensky suggested the lack of transparency further underscores the need for increased international pressure on the Kremlin.

Zelensky confirmed ongoing coordination with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, seeking to give real substance to possible talks and ensure they are not misused by Russia to stall or manipulate the diplomatic process.

He also highlighted a productive meeting with U.S. Senators Lindsey Graham and Blumenthal, thanking them for their bipartisan support of Ukraine and their commitment to moral clarity in recognizing that Russia started the war and must end it. Zelensky reiterated that any continued Russian rhetoric of ultimatums and blackmail must be met with firm responses from the U.S., Europe, and global partners advocating for peace.

Additionally, Zelensky mentioned that his team is preparing high-level meetings with EU partners in the coming week, with instructions to maximize diplomatic engagement across all fronts.
