Wrapping your Hands for Boxing with AWBC

There are many correct ways to wrap your hands. This is a simple way we like to teach our boxers how to wrap their hands when they first get started.

Wrapping your hands for boxing is important because hand wraps protect your tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints from injury. Wrapping your hands also helps absorb shock from the impact of punching a bag.

We use 180” wraps so we can add plenty of padding to various parts of the hand and wrist. We prefer the “Mexican style” hand wraps because there is a little bit of elastic in it and forms around your hand with a little more flexibility.

After a boxing session, we recommend letting your wraps dry before rolling them up if you intend to use them a couple of more times before washing them. That way, they don't remain sweaty or start to stink. When you do wash them, you should put them in a mesh bag before throwing them in the washing machine with the rest of your laundry.
