The IEP parental concerns section is your place to let it rip, Mom & Dad. Don’t hold back here. If everything is amazing and you have no concerns at all with your child’s academic, social-emotional, or functional progress, kudos to you and your child’s school. But if you do have concerns, put it all on the table. Get those concerns addressed. Get them resolved. And most importantly, get them documented in the IEP. If you’re like I was, I appreciated the hard work the teachers were doing and didn’t want to rock the boat, initially… until I could no longer. What I didn’t recognize at the time was that there was a cost on the back end for my child and my family.
