Post battle analysis of an alternate save of Rio Hill where the AI had mostly scoped rifles instead of carbines. I use nearly the same strategy, but take more casualties, get fewer kills, and had to spend nearly 160k to solve the problem.

The only benefit would have been getting access to more scoped rifles, but I also got lucky and captured two whitworth(ts) units which is not going to happen all the time. Still wouldn't offset the cost of prepping for the battles.
