No music, no talk, just the craft and its sounds.
Handmade construction of a Classical Guitar by Christian Crevels, guitar maker.
In this video, the build of the neck. This is one of the most work-intensive jobs in making a guitar, but also one of the most important for the player experience. In the traditional "Spanish method" of guitar construction, the joint of the neck center the whole of the guitar, and the instrument is constructed around it. Getting it millimetrically right is vital for the alignment.
I have devised a variation of the Spanish Method joint in which I bring elements of modern construction techniques. It will be featured in a future video when this neck meets the soundboard and the ribs to become a guitar.

This guitar is #8 and is called 'Avenir', meaning 'future' in french. It is crafted using only quality solid wood for the best sound performance. The neck is made out of Khaya, also known as "African Mahogany". It is a fine species of wood. The grain can be tricky sometimes, but I love how it looks under the finish.
