This is an awareness video showing the importance of weather information and forecasting in Nepal. This video is made by Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM), Nepal.
DHM is a leading governmental institution undertaking the hydrological and meteorological activities in Nepal. Among the four divisions in DHM, Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) is the one which has the mandate to generate weather forecasts. Daily weather forecasts include three day weather forecast, country forecast, city forecast and mountaineering forecast. MFD also provides regular aviation weather observations and forecasts for the safety of the aviation sector. Identifying the need and expanding the scope, MFD has been providing impact based weather forecasts for a few districts as a pilot program.
