"Go to your mother, my love," said Mohammed Washah, father of two-month-old Wissam Washah, as he bid farewell to his child and wife after their home in Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza was bombed.

Israel has killed more than 46,000 Palestinians since its war on Gaza began on 7 October 2023. In the first week of 2025, 74 children in Gaza were killed by Israeli attacks.
