• १/२ कप चणाडाळ
• १ हिरवी मिरची
• १/२"आलं
• १ चमचा मोहरी
• १ चमचा जिरं
• चिमूटभर हिंग
• कढीपत्ता
• १/२ चमचा हळद
• चवीनुसार मीठ
• बारीक चिरलेली कोथिंबीर
• अर्ध्या लिंबाचा रस
• चवीनुसार साखर (ऐच्छिक)
• १ चमचा तेल
• १ सुकी लाल मिरची (ऐच्छिक)

Today’s recipe is traditional prasad watli dal. This recipe is generally distributed as Ganapati bappacha prasad at the time of visarjan in Pune. This is an authentic traditional recipe. You also can serve it as side dish in main course. You also can have it with chapati. This is a very healthy and simple recipe. Healthy because it is rich in proteins and least oil is used to make it. It looks nice and tastes just awesome. it is full of flavors though it is tempered with very few basic spices. I am sharing a short cut to make it. This dal won’t be dry. This recipe doesn’t need lot many ingredients. You can easily make it from very few basic ingredients those are readily available in your pantry. I am sure you will like it. Try this recipe at home and write to me. Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup Chana dal
• 1 chopped Green chili
• 1/2” Ginger
• 1 tsp Mustard seeds
• 1 tsp Cumin seeds
• A pinch of Hing
• 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
• Curry leaves
• Salt to taste
• Finely chopped Coriander leaves
• 1/2 Lemon juiced
• Sugar to taste (Optional)
• 1 tsp Oil
• 1 dry Red chili (Optional)

Method:
• Wash chana dal really good 3-4 times and soak it in enough water for about 4 hours.
• Blend green chili, ginger and soaked dal into coarse paste in mixer and take it out into a pot. Use
minimum water while blending.
• Transfer the dal into a cooker and cover it.
• Cook it on medium heat until 2 whistles.
• Take the dal out and loosen it with the help of fork.
• Heat up oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.
• When mustard seeds pop up, add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
• Add hing, curry leaves, dry red chili and turmeric powder and mix well.
• Adding dry red chili is optional. You can skip it if you don’t want.
• Add the cooked dal and fry it well for about 4-5 minutes.
• Mash it well with masher to speed up the process.
• You can use a katori in place of masher.
• Spread the dal and cover it with a lid.
• Steam the dal on medium heat for just about 5 minutes.
• Remove the lid and mix well once.
• Add lemon juice, sugar, salt and coriander leaves and mix everything well together. Watli dal is
ready.
• Adding sugar is optional. You can skip it if you don’t want.
• You can have it as it is or serve it as side dish in main course.
• It goes well with chapati or with steamed rice as side dish.
• You can add finely chopped or grated veggies of your choice and enjoy it as healthy protein rich
bowl.
