Born in 1961, Xu Xiangdong was the main force of the Hebei Wushu team, his Yingzhaoquan was both breathtaking and technically remarkable, but he was also a first level athlete in Changquan, Jianshu, Qiangshu, Zuijian, Duilian and more.

Although a bit younger, he was contemporary to Zhao Changjun, Li Zhizhou, Wang Jianjun, Xiong Changgui and other famous athletes. Xu graduated from the Beijing Sport University in 1988, and served as a judge at the 1990 1st Asian Wushu Games.

His movie career includes films such as The Holy Robe of the Shaolin Temple (1986), Bridging with Love (1990), Tai Chi 2 (1996), Champions (2008), Dragon Blade (2015), and many more.
