Did you know otters hold hands when they sleep? Did you know mermaids do the same thing?

Maeve is a mermaid who hasn’t been able to bring herself to swim in the ocean since her parent's death a year and a half ago. At first, she moved to Crescent Cove as a way to stay close to her family. It was the place they visited every summer, it was the place her god moms lived, it was the place her parents fell in love, but she never considered what it would mean to live so close to the ocean, or what happens when she couldn’t stand the pull of the ocean any longer.

Indigo is a local tour guide for the Noctiluca Marine Research Center. A job he charmed his way into by chance when looking for a temporary job on his adventure up the California coast trying to figure out what to do with his life. Now, a year later he’s dodging questions from his family asking about when was he going to get a career started. He doesn’t have it in him to tell them his heart was with the folk of Crescent Cove and the life he built for himself. It wouldn’t matter anyway, not if his sister has a say in it, not when there are better opportunities out there knocking at his door. But there is more than meets the eye in Crescent Cove.

There's a voice that seems to rip at his very heart and soul, calling him out to the water. Calling out to anyone who would listen. The real question is, will he get the chance to answer?
