Kannur Deputy Collector and Additional District Magistrate Naveen Babu was found hanging at his residence on Tuesday. The reason for suicide is unknown but Former colleagues and revenue officials said he was disturbed over an incident that happened on Monday during a farewell meeting.
Naveen Babu, who got transferred as Pathanamthitta ADM, was given a farewell on Oct 14 under the leadership of the Kannur District Collector. As the ceremony was going on, Kannur District Panchayat President PP Divya walked into the hall uninvited and indirectly levelled a corruption allegation against Naveen Babu. Divya talked about the delay ADM made in issuing NOC to a petrol pump. She said she had all the details in this regard and would reveal them within two days.
