Israeli President Isaac Herzog is expected to arrive in the UK earlier than initially reported, with his visit now scheduled for Tuesday rather than Thursday, prompting immediate protests from pro-Palestinian activists. Ben Jamal, director of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), condemned Herzog’s visit, accusing him of complicity in war crimes and calling for his arrest upon arrival.
In a video statement, Jamal cited Herzog’s controversial remarks during Israel’s military campaign in Gaza and criticised his symbolic act of signing missiles used in strikes on the besieged enclave. “He does not belong in any meeting room on our shores, he belongs in the dock at The Hague,” Jamal stated. PSC has organised a demonstration outside Downing Street at 6 p.m. Tuesday to protest the visit and demand accountability.
