Description: The ceremonies of the jubilee (fiftieth anniversary of his reign) of Maharajah Jagatjit Singh were first held at the Palace of Justice and the New Palace, where after religious rites, the equivalent in gold and food of the weight of the Maharajah was distributed to the people; Then took place the Durbar, ceremony paying homage to the Maharajah: the crowd massed on the roofs, attended the passage of the procession of the five elephants leading his majesty to the hall of the Durbar; The vassals bowed to their prince, ascending the throne to deliver his speech.
