In this Android pocket projector review, I’m unboxing the Wimius Q3 & reviewing whether it could be the best hd projector for a tiny home. The Q3 is a projector with Netflix, YouTube & many other apps because it is a projector with built in Android.

If you’re after a projector for games consoles, then the Wimius Q3 could be the best quality projector for Xbox, Playstation & streaming. It has a resolution of 1280x720 & being HD is the best quality projector you can buy.

This latest release 2024 projector also has bluetooth & wifi, though is not a 4k bluetooth projector & the Wimius Q3 is not a projector with autofocus, though it is a projector with easy manual focus.

This tiny projector produces a big image, making it much bigger than a television & an ideal projector tv alternative, so it is one of the top mini projectors.

The Q3 measures just 12x12cm & is 2.8cm deep, or just under 5x5in, & just over 1in thick & is light at only 400g.

For connectivity, there are 2x USB-A ports, a HDMI port, a USB-C port & a 3.5mm audio out port & it comes with remote control & mini tripod.

The Q3 has a 450 ANSI lumens bulb, though its Amazon listing says 23,000 lumens & 25000 lumens too.

The fans make some sound, but the projector is very quiet at around 40db. The fans keep the projector cool, running at around 37 degrees.

When you connect to wi-fi, you get access to hundreds on apps on the Android 11 system, including Netflix, YouTube, Prime & Disney+.

The image quality of the Wimius Q3 is 1280x720 resolution, with support for 1080 full HD content. Although it isn't a 4k projector I’ve been really surprised by just how good the 720p resolution is. The lens is hermetically sealed, to greatly reduce the chance of dust impacting the projected image & the built-in lens cover stops dust from the outside.

This battery projector has a 8000mAh built-in battery, which will last around 3 hours.

Being a short-throw projector, Wimius recommends that the best distance is 2.5 to 3 metres away from a wall.

There are two built-in projector speakers at 12 watts each, but you can connect to a speaker or headphones using this bluetooth projector.

This can be a wired projector or a wireless projector, thanks to the HDMI port.

You can use auto keystone correction for ±40° vertical correction, or manual keystone correction for the perfect image on your projector wall or screen.

The Wimius Q3 projector with battery has Android 11 installed, as well as 1GB of memory & 32GB of storage.

For Android screencasting you will need to download the Eshare app but for Apple you can screen cast easily from Airplay to the Q3 projector. There is also a wired screen casting your phone to the projector.

There are other contenders to consider though - the Anker Nebula Capsule 3, the PVO portable projector, the Elus Mini Projector, the Kodak Luma 150, the BenQ GV30, the Samsung Freestyle & the ViewSonic M2. These are the best HD projectors for home theaters.

Overall I’ve been really impressed with the Wimius Q3 projector & have found it to be a very powerful projector. Its sleek, minimal design, coupled with its pocket-size build makes it an ideal travel companion & one I’ll be taking away on my camping trips going forward.

This could well be a contender for the best portable projector of the year 2024.
