Chinese New Year in Melbourne (ft. Karen Foote & Tim Lai)

To usher in Year of the Tiger in 2022, we decided to head to Melbourne to celebrate it. This trip was significant because it marked the first time in a long time I actually purposely went out of my way to celebrate CNY. You see, for much of my life, celebrating CNY was nothing short of traumatic for me growing up in Singapore as a gay person. It came to a point when I was old enough to say "no", I stopped marking the occasion altogether.

Living in Australia for close to a decade now, I feel the incessant need to connect with my roots. With age, I am also becoming nostalgic. The only real family I have here is Karen. So we decided to get together for the first time during CNY to commemorate this festive season.

Comical situations and laughs are guaranteed. We also met up with Tim, my other regular guest star for my series of Melbourne videos. He kindly opened up his house to us and my goodness, what a day that was.
