Caterham 310R 2023 - Thruxton Race 1. P1

Between races the car had been at Caterham for a refreshed gearbox, flywheel upgrade (long overdue) and investigation into a suspected top speed deficit. Likely from a cumulative affect of sorting all those things, my car was fully competitive for the first time in 310R spec.
Qualified P3 and got a flyer of a start and managed to break away for the first few laps. Was really pushing to maintain the gap and made a mistake into the chicane meaning I was quickly swallowed up. A yellow flag at the final chicane for the last few laps essentially neutralised that part of the circuit which meant whoever exited Church first on the last lap would take the win. I was elated to eventually take the win after so many races off the podium and an embarrassing spin on the formation lap!
