Enterprise Agility usually takes the form of groups, teams, and individuals outside of product and solution development coming to terms with how they must evolve, adapt, learn, and operate with new ways-of-working, under new constraints, and with closer, tighter relationships with technical staff. The “How do we get there?” challenge to these non-technical staff is almost always starker and often bleaker then the challenge to technical staff. Technical staff are presumed to be always seeking, testing, and adopting new ways-of-working and complementary tools to improve their ability to deliver. Non-technical staff are usually operating with much older ways-of-working (and tools) and rooted in methods and procedures that have remained unchanged for a decade or longer. The larger the Enterprise, the deeper the roots. Instigating persistent change enabling Enterprise Agility in these non-technical constituencies is a major gating factor for successful Enterprise Agility (and for happy, prolific technical delivery teams.) In this talk, the speaker will advocate for a more dynamic form of Enterprise Agility Enablement that creates opportunities for accelerated delivery and innovative outcomes (while benignly uprooting, calmly re-planting, an collaboratively nourishing ways-of-working for non-technical staff.)
