From BoJack Horseman creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg, Netflix's latest adult-animated dramedy, Long Story Short, is bringing both laughs and tears. Family can be tricky, but the Schwoopers take it up a notch. Told in between changing timelines, the series follows the highs and lows of the American-Jewish family, as told through the experiences of parents Elliot Cooper (Paul Reiser) and Naomi Schwartz (Lisa Edelstein), and their three children Avi (Ben Feldman), Shira (Abbi Jacobson), and Yoshi (Max Greenfield). But there's no such thing as peace in the Schwooper household.

Whether it's dealing with their passive-aggressive matriarch, falling in and out of love with their spouse, or finding their purpose (or at least employment), each time jump presents new challenges experienced by its family members. But Long Story Short isn't a woeful recount of all the wrongs that could happen in a dysfunctional family. It's about learning how to navigate constantly changing family dynamics and realizing that forgiveness is a winding road.

Following a special screening of two episodes, Collider's very own Steve Weintraub had the opportunity to sit down with creator Bob-Waksberg, art director Alison Dubois, supervising director Jack Shih, supervising producer Lisa Hanawalt, and recurring guest star Michael Dietz to talk more about the making of Long Story Short.
