Yes, you read the title correctly: this is a music video I've made for Macabre (y'know the band I've been a fan of for ages?), and while it's in the same vein as my earlier Macabre-videos (Found a Peanut, The Cat Came Back, etc.), the difference here is that this one is official! As in, I was personally asked to make this for them, as a part of the release of their newest album "Carnival of Killers".
Essentially, it's thanks to my early Macabre-vids that they chose me to make this one! How crazy (and awesome) is that?! I could gush about this forever, but let's cut to the chase for now, shall we?
This is a song about Joe Ball, aka. "The Bluebeard of South Texas" aka. "The Alligator Man" aka. "The Butcher of Elmendorf"... In case you haven't heard the story (I hadn't before I started making this video), Joe Ball was a man in 1920's-30's Texas who is said to have fed his waitresses to some alligators he kept at the back of his bar. Why has it not been confirmed? Well, watch the video, and you'll see why there was never a confession from the man himself.
It's not known just how many people Joe actually killed, but the bodies of at least two women were found in the vicinity, so he most likely had something to do with those.
In the end, what we DO know that Joe Ball wasn't just an urban legend, but a real person, and he had alligators and most definitely killed two ladies. We'll probably never know the full extent of his crimes, though...
This video feels like my "return to grace", in a way, since I haven't made a video like this since-- well... the earlier Macabre ones. I hope those of you that have stuck around will think so too, and that you'll leave a like or a comment if you do!
In short, this has been such an exciting 3-ish months I've spent making this video, learning about a new (to me) killer, AND how to animate! I'm eternally grateful to Macabre and their manager, for wanting me for the job! Thank you all so much! :')
And now..., some details and links below, which I urge you to read and look at as well!
