The Banana Wars was a series of interventions by the United States Marines corp and Army that were largely lobbied by Banana Companies to protect their infrastructure and business interests in the Caribbean, this war is also where the term 'Banana Republic' comes from to describe US protectorates and later US allies used by Anti-Imperialists to this day.
