I show how to press real lavender flowers and leaves in clay, to create ceramics that celebrate the natural beauty in nature. Lavender leaves have incredible texture and color washes of ceramic stains accent the intricate detail. I add sculpted ladybugs and bees, symbolizing harmony in the garden. The pieces are kiln fired to over 2200F/1200c degrees (cone 6) to vitrify the clay and create the glazed finish.
The gold accent on the dish edge is real gold. It is a 22kt gold overglaze that i apply by hand and fire in the kiln again to bond it to the ceramic #vuvuceramics #natureinspiredart #ceramicbotanicalart #cottagecore
