There are so many different ways of holding the racket and you should use your racket always depending on the situation you are in. The four most common grips are:

1: The V-Grip:
The V-Grip is especially useful for shots where you want to generate a lot of power, like a smash or a clear.

2: The Thumb grip:
The Thumb Grip helps you to generat power on your backhandside with the fingers, when you only have litte time for the swing of the racket, like a drive or netkill.

3: The backhand or bevel grip:
The backhandgrip helps you to use the thumb and fingerpower, as well as forearmrotation at the same time, and it is mainly used for backhand overhand shots and backhanddefence in doubles.

4: The Panhandle Grip:
Like the thumb grip on the backhandside, the panhandle grip is good for creating power with a short swing but on the forehandside.
