Umbreon EX
Umbreon EX is the deck’s main control piece and primary attacker. Its Ability lets you, once during your turn, if it’s in the Active Spot, switch in one of your opponent’s Benched Pokémon that has damage on it to the Active Spot. For 2 Energy, it deals 80 damage, providing efficient pressure while maintaining full control over the board’s positioning.

Umbreon
Umbreon plays a crucial early-game disruption role. For just 1 Energy, it deals 40 damage, and if the Defending Pokémon is a Basic Pokémon, it can’t attack during your opponent’s next turn. Since most decks rely heavily on Basics in the early stages, Umbreon can completely shut down early aggression, slow development, and create tempo advantage while you establish your control engine.

Greninja
Greninja is the engine that enables the entire strategy. Its Ability allows you, once during your turn, to deal 20 damage to one of your opponent’s Pokémon, placing damage exactly where you need it. This activates Umbreon EX’s Ability on demand, letting you choose which Pokémon gets dragged into the Active Spot. By repeatedly softening key targets and setting up clean knockouts, Greninja ensures you always control which threats are removed and when.

Win Condition
The game plan is to use Greninja every turn to place 20 damage on a key Benched Pokémon, then activate Umbreon EX to force it into the Active Spot and remove it before it becomes a threat. Meanwhile, Umbreon disrupts Basic Pokemon. By combining targeted damage, forced switches, and early-game denial, this deck wins through constant pressure and positional control rather than explosive burst damage.
