Admiral II Orchestrion at Siegfrieds Mechanisches Musikkabinett

Over the past week, I visited Siegfrieds Mechanisches Musikkabinett in Rüdesheim, Germany. I've wanted to go there for almost a decade, and I finally got the chance to go and get both a public and private tour of the museum. Throughout these visits, I was able to get some amazing videos of some of my favorite orchestrions, some of which have little to no documentation.

This is the Admiral II orchestrion playing an unknown waltz. This orchestrion was originally found in New York and was most likely used at a fairground organ or at the center of a merry-go-round. When it was shipped to Germany around the 1930's, it was dismantled for easy shipment. The problem was that no one had thought to take any documentation of the instrument prior to disassembly. Siegfried's took 14 years to reassemble this wonderful instrument and it is one of the largest orchestrions in the entire world.

The name of the waltz it is playing is unknown. The name and composer have unfortunately been lost to time, but that doesn't stop listeners from enjoying the mechanical 200 piece orchestra in a room! Enjoy!
