Years ago I made a video showing how I’d solder my metal JST connectors and fold over the tabs with needle nose pliers.

Comments pointed out that a proper crimper is the real solution. I took their advice and of course they’re correct.

This is using the iwiss ratcheting crimper. It takes some practice but it is a fantastic tool.
