Struggled through Friday practice before finding Saturday morning that a critical structural piece of the chassis had failed. Once that was resolved after being 41st on time in practice, we were able to lay down a lap of 15.69 to put us solidly in the show qualifying P12 of 45.

Once the race started my goal was to ride until about lap 30. Once I was able to find a gap, I fell in line and was in the process of riding, only going as hard as the 26 of Bubba Pollard behind me was pushing. The plan was working out well as we were riding just outside the top 10 in P11 when disaster struck. On lap 28 just following a restart, two of the front cars got together causing a checkup. Unfortunately the 19 car in front of me got into the 07 in front of him during the checkup and I had no chance, climbing up over his LR and damaging the RF suspension. Once I was able to get rolling, I noticed the steering was off drastically and out of caution I decided to park rather than take a risk of critical failure that could result in a much bigger issue.

As disappointing as it was, we had a fast top 5 capable car. Really looking forward to coming back here in October and hopefully we can build on what we started.
