Mais pourquoi éduquer aux mathématiques alors qu’il y a des ordinateurs pour calculer, de l’IA pour nous aider à choisir nos produits et même des algorithmes pour démontrer des théorèmes ? Originally from Roanne, Charles Torossian joined the ENS-Paris andthe CNRS in 1991.
First a researcher in pure mathematics, he was also concerned about the dissemination of scientific culture to young and disadvantaged audiences. He was recruited as General Inspector in 2009. In October 2017, he and Cédric Villani were appointed by the Minister of Education. Their work resulted in the "21 measures for mathematics education" in the Villani-Torossian report (submitted on 12 February 2018). He is now on an extraordinary mission to the Ministery of Education to implement the recommendations of the report.
