Houston manhunt: Escaped fugitive holds prosecutor at knifepoint | LiveNOW from FOX

The University of Houston Downtown issued a lockdown on Thursday evening because law enforcement is actively searching for a fugitive.

According to Harris County Pct. 1 Constable Alan Rosen someone crawled out of a pipe at 1391 Franklin Street and temporarily held an assistant prosecutor hostage with a knife before escaping and jumping into the bayou.

The person was wearing what looked like an inmate outfit, according to FOX 26 Houston.

Harris County law enforcement and Houston Police are working together in search of a fugitive near 1399 Commerce Street and 101 Austin Street, according to preliminary information from officials.
