Thai Poosam: A festival that occurs during a Full Moon in the Tamil month of Thai. This happens in either January or February. Part of the festival is that the Full Moon is in the star of Pushya which is called Poosam in Tamil. Pushya star or Poosam is the most spiritually auspicious of all the stars.

During this festival, there are some great spiritual events which are celebrated.

One celebration is the story of the divine mother Parvati giving a Vel, a divine spear weapon, to Muruga, the Pleiadean archetype. She did this so that Muruga could destroy a particular demon which he did.

Thai Poosam is a good day to visualize Muruga coming to us and planting a Vel of light into us so that the base of the Vel is at our own root center. We picture the Vel rising up with light through our spine, driving out all negativities and impurities. We envision the top of the Vel entering into our 3rd eye with the light of a million Suns, giving us a pure, one-pointed focus on our prayers and on our own intentions.
It is a day to ask Muruga for his blessings for protection from enemies, for the destruction of diseases and dissolution of debts.

Another event which we remember on this day is that the great Tamil saint, Swami Ramalingam, ascended with a light body on Thai Poosam in 1874. As per witnesses, he had lived for at least 1 ½ years in a light body form for all to see. Although he ascended, he promised to return to help share the light body technology with others. Various Nadis have said Dr. Pillai is that promised reincarnation of Swami Ramalingam, and there are some YouTube videos in which he talks about his life as Swami Ramalingam.
Swami Ramalingam had a great passion for feeding the hungry. Dr. Pillai has said many times, “The easiest way to access God’s grace is to feed a famished human being starving for food.”
