The beast unleashed , yamaha IT 490 first run after rebuild, Big Bore 2 stroke lives again

After a lengthy rebuild mainly held back by bad weather and obtaining parts for this rare thing, finally managed to get a couple of heat cycles done and take the beast for a run around the village.
Had to sell it literally within a couple of days of making this video after losing my long term job. managed to get back what i put into it just about but pleased overall with the finish achieved given the condition it arrived in. Have since sold most of my IT parts that i had been collecting for the last 5 years as i was always hoping to find a UK IT 465 to restore and keep.
Have acquired plenty of knowledge about these magnificent bikes along the way and have a good idea of what it costs to get one of these back on the road. They are so much fun progressive power on the big bore bikes and the perfect 2 stroke bike to go for that sunday morning ride in the summer heads turn every time they start. The sky blue plastics/ yellow accents everyone can remember from a great era in biking 81-85.
