Classic Movie Review: Paul Newman and Geraldine Page have an actor’s field day and recreating the roles they made famous on Broadway in Richard Brooks' film version of Tennessee Williams' “Sweet Bird Of Youth” (’62). Set in a seedy town in Florida, this tale of sex and political corruption is filed with all the poetry, shock and a touch of decadence that made Williams' work so powerful. The supporting cast is extraordinary as well along with Oscar nominee Page and her husband Rip Torn, Shirley Knight was nominated as best Supporting actress and veteran character actor Ed Begley walked away with the award for his portrayal of the vile Boss Finley.
