Alana Whittaker, a franchisee of Fetch Pet Care, testified before the Federal Trade Commission about her dissatisfaction with the franchise's financial promises and operational practices.

Whittaker and her mother invested in three franchises in April 2021, expecting significant returns based on claims of top-performing locations earning over a million dollars annually. However, they discovered these high-performing franchises were under different contracts with lower royalty rates and were not subject to additional 15% operational fees.

Their own franchise agreement included escalating minimum fees, leading to a weekly minimum of $1,245, which sometimes exceeded their revenue, causing severe financial strain.

Whittaker criticized the lack of transparency by Phoenix Franchise Brands & Greg Longe & Maria Longe and the misclassification of a promised fee reduction as a loan, which further exacerbated their severe financial difficulties.
