In our rush to navigate day to day living we can forget how much we depend on modern technology. Imagine no electricity, no food, being afraid to walk the streets where you live. This is the reality of Syrian civilians right now.

This letter was an exercise for me to take time to get in touch with my thoughts in a visceral way and think about peace and conflict resolution on 09-29-2013.

Make a Video Letter for/about Bassel:
Make a short video for Bassel. Expand the mediums of Vine / Instagram video in Bassels name. Or just make a regular video, but try to keep it under 90 seconds. Respond to a question posed in one of his tweets, or just compose a short message for/about him. Send to: [email protected]

Share Image of Bassel:
Share an image of Bassel on Instagram with the #freebassel hashtag. Then go to http://freebassel.org #FREEBASSEL Campaign homepage and you will see it there immediately!

You can also use this feature to share videos for Bassel - just include the url of your video in the comments. The images cycle through, so why not take a screenshot or photograph of the image you just took when it appears on the homepage and then share it again? (or many other things - but the point is that it is a unique experience, and you should try it - it's an easy and creative way to contribute).
