Low Carb & Keto Diets causing Insulin Resistance & why this happens. The Medical Community simply got the low carb diet & ketogenic diet wrong. They overlooked the body’s dedicated organ, Brown Adipose Tissue (BAT) to prevent weight gain, insulin resistance, Hyperlipidemia, Linoleic Acid Accumulation & Elevated Branched Chain Amino Acids. Low Carb, Ketogenic and Carnivore diets are designed to keep blood sugar low & prevent blood sugar spikes not understanding low blood sugar, low insulin response & low blood sugar spikes generally won’t activate Brown Fat Adipose Tissue.
Over time, Carnivore Diets are perpetuating elevated Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAS) causing insulin resistance, Hyperlipidemia, hypertension & many other health conditions [see my short video Thomas DeLauer & Sean O’Mara MD Response]. Carnivore diet also causes body to accumulate Linoleic Acid storing the same as fat/Lipids or being converted to dangerous OXLAMs [Oxidized Linoleic Acid Metabolites]. Whereas Linoleic Acid Accumulation also causes insulin resistance, diabetes, heart disease, hyperlipidemia & much more.
Continuous High protein intake suppresses Brown Fat Adipose Tissue Activation. Therefore, the body’s main organ to burn excess Linoleic Acid, lower BCAAS, Prevent Insulin Resistance, Prevent Hyperlipidemia can’t do its job effectively & the tissue becomes dysregulated developing insulin resistance.

Dr Paul Saladino provides his CGM reports in some YouTube videos. He also shares his comprehensive lab results. Whereas, some of Dr Saladino’s Blood Glucose Spikes were close to 200. Whereas, Dr Saladino believes said elevated Blood Sugar Spikes are normal & healthy which contradicts Glucose Goddess’s belief about the same. This channel agrees with Dr Paul Saladino’s position. Glucose Goddess is one of the most talented YouTube influencers. Her work is reminiscent of Mr Rogers TV series. She is the victim of an entire Medical industry mistake in not recognizing or understanding Brown Fat Tissue. It is without argument suppressing Blood Glucose Spikes is not healthy & is being exposed in the new Ketogenic, Low Carb & Carnivore Diet studies. The common thread between the diets is maintaining low blood sugar & preventing blood sugar spikes. Whereas, these studies show lean healthy adults are insulin resistant suggesting a low carb diet may not be healthy.
The video provides some Physicians who teach or believe Blood Glucose Spikes are natural & healthy. Paul Saladino MD, Stephen Cabral NP @stephencabral John McDougall MD @themcdougallprogram all teach about the benefits of Blood Sugar Spikes. Dr McDougall passed away in 2024. He left a legacy including claiming 100% success rate in reversing Type II diabetes in tens of thousands of his patients. Whereas, he used a High Carbohydrate/Starch diet with low fat & 7-15% protein basically keeping these patients in a state of Activated Brown Fat Tissue.
Healthy activated Brown Fat reverses Insulin Resistance, Leptin Resistance, FGF21 Resistance, Diabetes, Hyperlipidemia. BAT prevents Linoleic Acid Accumulation, Lowers Branched Chain Amino Acids & prevents Advanced Glycation End Products. BAT stimulates FGF21, Leptin, Adiponectin, Irisin to burn fat & achieve rapid weight loss. BAT stimulates Leptin, Irisin & IRF4 to prevent muscle loss acting as myostatin inhibitors.
BAT rescues sleep deprivation. TIP: If you didn’t get sleep, eat Fruit, drink fruit juices and don’t eat protein & you will not experience the usual sleep deprived symptoms. Dysregulated BAT is also linked to increased risk of suicide.
The video provides pictures of CGM results reflecting what Blood Glucose spikes look like when BAT is properly activated. The reports represent blood glucose is immediately removed from blood with sharp straight up & straight down blood sugar spikes. The type of lines created reflects when BAT is activated providing a tool to help people lose weight. I have been on a CGM for over 14 months straight being able to recognize the difference in lines when BAT is activated with protocols I developed.
