Abraham Meadows

The crimson moon ascends from the ashes of the extinguished horizon.
A distant screech of laughter belies the nature of this fiery night.
Enflamed shadow defiles the chagrined wall in search of focused eye.
Abraham Meadows follows suit.

A daytime servant to civility
Positively slave to humility,
Abraham Meadows stalks the night
A sun-burnt, flame-grilled figure of might.

Blazing darkness succumbs to the power of the night
As an ill-timed shriek of terror is muffled under pillows of the moon.
A scarlet splash defines the wall
A silent shadow breathes deep.

A daytime servant to civility
Positively slave to humility,
Abraham Meadows stalks the night
A sun-burnt, flame-grilled figure of might.

Parish lantern arises from its death-like slumber
Imposing screaming silence on the chill-air,
Defaced wall weeps for its infamy.
An intruding shadow bows calmly to the light.

Daytime servant to civility
Positively slave to humility,
Man of the shadows, master of night
Bows calmly to the light.
