Relationship between Hinduism and Buddhism

Buddha was driven to the forest by the suffering of his people. He showed the way out of suffering for the whole of humanity without bothering about God or the idea of personal salvation. India became Buddhist within a few centuries.

Great Hindu personalities like Adi Shankara and Vivekananda are also considered crypto-Buddhist because they promoted an impersonal or Humanistic vision of spirituality and demoted the idea of God.
