NOTES: Happy Mothers Day - Moms how do you do it all?

Thank you Mom’s for your relationship with God and modeling a wonderful motherhood.

Thank you mom's for showing us what God looks like through your love, encouragement, in the wisdom and never giving up on us.

Wisdom, Encouragement and Love
Solomon’s mom is the reason that we have Proverbs today, Bathsheba loved Solomon, encouraged him and showed him the right way to go, she taught him to always be looking to God and to do what's right,

Proverbs 4:20-27 - Read

While he was usually called “Solomon”, he actually had multiple names. King David called him “Jedidiah” (2 Samuel 12:25), and in Proverbs 31 he is called “King Lemuel”. But these are all just different names for the same man.

The first verse of Proverbs 31 says this chapter is “the prophecy that his mother taught him.” Thus, Bathsheba is the author of Proverbs 31, and her son–the king–is simply the scribe.

Proverbs 31 (NIV)
31 The sayings of King Lemuel—an inspired utterance (PROPHECY) his mother taught him.
2 Listen, my son! Listen, son of my womb!
Listen, my son, the answer to my prayers!
3 Do not spend your strength on women,
your vigor on those who ruin kings…

▪ Proverbs 31 is realistic for all women
▪ Proverbs 31 highlights a godly mother/son relationship
▪ Proverbs 31 demonstrates how women can influence the world

Bathseba was a good woman who taught her son to follow the path of righteousness.
Elsewhere in Scripture, King Solomon shows just how much he honors his mother:

1 Kings 2:19-20
Bathsheba therefore went to King Solomon, to speak to him for Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her and bowed down to her, and sat down on his throne and had a throne set for the king’s mother; so she sat at his right hand. Then she said, “I desire one small petition of you; do not refuse me.”
King Solomon is the most powerful man in the nation. Yet he still bows down before his mother, to show her honor and respect. Then he proceeds to set a throne beside his own, and to have her sit at his right hand.

Proverbs 31:28, Her children will rise up and call her blessed.

So mom's thank you for your wisdom, your encouragement, and loving us the way you do.
We are so truly thankful for you, and we thank God for you.

You pray for us all the time, let us pray for you right now:
