Dead Battery on Your Tile Sticker Trackers?! See How I Replace The Battery

Описание к видео Dead Battery on Your Tile Sticker Trackers?! See How I Replace The Battery

Tile Sticker trackers are one time use and are supposed to be discarded after 2 years (or when the battery stops working). Mine all started dropping off within a month of each other, only used for about a year but these were likely sitting on a shelf for longer.

I feel wasteful tossing these in the trash, and always wondered what was inside. Take a look!

Warning, this could be a little tricky for some, and very dangerous. Proceed with caution. Newer models are a little easier to pop apart and don’t seem to have a spot welded tab on the battery.

You have to get the blade to fall just between the case wall and the battery, too far and you’ll hit the battery, too shallow and you’ll be cutting through the side wall. With some simple mechanical skills, you can open these up (carefully) and replace the battery with a fresh 2032 button battery, for only about $1 each tile and 6 minutes.

I am sure you can get by without the tape, but there are many alternatives if you want to secure the battery and can’t find a double stick tape like the one I used “Oracle Banner Hemming Tape”,

For example..
•Regular double stick tape
•A drop of glue
•Anti-cat scratching tape for furniture
•Rug tape
•Woodworking double sided tape
•3M 300LSE double sided tape
•Nothing and just bundle it back up tight

Just make sure it’s thin tape.

Again, battery used is 2032
