For this EP I aimed to go back to the way I originally started producing music; chopping up and combining dozens of samples from different records/decades/genres in order to create completely new sounds and emotions. Only this time I wanted to apply this approach to my collection of live instrument recordings that I have gathered over the years, rather than to a library of old records. Limiting myself to a certain set of sounds and/or gear is something I’ve been doing more and more in the past few months, as it forces me to try out new things and be more creative with a limited sonic palette.
