X-Men ‘97 Was ALMOST EXCELLENT!

Following the Disney acquisition of Fox in 2019, Disney now has the rights to include the X-Men in their major comic book franchise, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Kevin Fiege made the decision to, before put the X-Men into the MCU, make a Disney+ series about the characters acting as a follow up to X-Men: The Animated Series (1992 - 1997), X-Men '97.

Since the first episode's launch in March 2024, X-Men '97 (2024) has received tons of praise with many calling it one of the best Marvel projects of all time.

In this video essay, The Grinning Critic explains why he believes that X-Men '97 is OVERRATED and not worthy of such high acclaim but still an EXTREMELY GOOD piece of television.
