A house party… a disconnected phone… and a year long missing persons case. Where is 22-year-old Jack O’Sullivan?

On March the 2nd 2024, Jack O’Sullivan went to a house party in Bristol, UK. At 1am he texted his mum saying he would get a taxi home, but when she woke up at 5:30am she realised Jack had never made it back. She immediately called the police and reported her son missing, but over a year later nothing has ever been found, and she still doesn’t know what happened to him.

While the media slowly mentioned Jack’s name less, the internet has kept his case alive. There are hundreds of thousands of videos about Jack on the internet – ranging from true crime TikTokers to mediums and psychics sharing their thoughts about what happened to him that night.

TNM reporter Anwen Sleath spoke to Jack’s family, as well as those using the internet to try to find him, exploring the ways in which people online involve themselves in police investigations - asking whether this has ultimately been more harmful or helpful…
