William Tell Overture - Daniel Purnomo Solo Classical Fingerstyle Ukulele

I was requested to teach the Lone Ranger 's theme song in th upcoming intermediate class, it sounds brave & dashing like galloping horses. Actually that theme song is from a classical orchestra piece, "William Tell Overture" composed by an Italian composer Gioachino Rossini.

I listened to the piece, took note & learned to play it as a "string quartet" - ukulele has 4 strings, so it's a string quartet, isn't it? Lol. Here's a solo ukulele version of it :    • William Tell Overture - Daniel Purnom...

This piece will be a good showcase for the students to learn some interesting plucking & strumming technique that enable them to play solo chord-melody, it is also a good practice for the left hand too. I'm quite excited sharing & teaching my class :)

Daniel Purnomo is a finalist of the International Ukulele Contest 2018 and 2019 (open solo category) in Honolulu, Hawaii. In 2019 his trained team called Singapore Ukulele Revival (SURE) won the 2nd prize in the same contest in group category in Hawaii. He was the finalist of Kris Fuchigami Ukulele Contest in 2020 and the 1st runner up in open category of an online solo ukulele competition in 2021 and 2022 organised by Malaysia Ukulele Festival.

Daniel Purnomo is founder & organizer of The 1st Singapore Ukulele Camp and Fun Holiday in South East Asia in 2018 and 2019.
