Wilber Walnut is a totally unknown nigh legend of Canadian Literature. He claims to be well over a hundred years old; however, this cannot be confirmed because he asserts his trap-line mother would never registered her guns, income, bootleg, or his birth due to the repressive government of the times and its reactionary racist policies. This one-eyed poet from Northern Ontario with transvestite tendencies claims to have served in the Spanish Civil War with the Mac-Paps, and then during WWII in France with the underground with a side stint to visit Moscow as a French resistance liaison representing the International; but people don’t really believe the stories told by this almost mythical figure. Wilber Walnut seems to be an endless acquaintance of the famous; such as: Ernest Hemingway, Norman Bethune, Langston Hughes, Joseph Stalin, Grey Owl, and Shirley Temple.

He tells the stories of his fantastical meetings with unashamed abash, and in every meeting the result of the encounter with the famous is always identical. He looses the same eye over and over again:

Boxing with Ernest Hemingway;

Bungled transfusion with Norman Bethune;

Pool game with Langston Hughes;

Drinking competition with Joseph Stalin;

Playing cowboys and Indians with Grey Owl;

A pointy stick wielded with pure malice by Shirley Temple.

Large amounts of alcohol are usually involved in some way which makes it easy for his audiences to dismiss his tales as stupor induced hallucinations, but in fact all of his stories have to be believed due to the Woke policies of our post-modern times since it is Wilber’s firm belief that everything he says is true and that he is simply speaking the truth, taking a stance not dissimilar to Jordan Peterson who once removed Wilber’s eye using a lobster claw during an argument while both were dinning at the Bubba Gump in the West Edmonton Mall. The waiter made the mistake of sitting these politically opposite strangers at a joining tables next to the bubbling lobster tank. Apparently Wilber made the comment that JP reminded him of his old comrade Joseph Stalin and things just kind of went from there. (I have not been able to confirm this story as told by Wilber, perhaps Jordan Peterson can give his version of events.)

I asked for their ISBN number and Wilber responded that registering books with the government was clearly a capitalist conspiracy designed to limit free speech by the rich.
