A major uproar broke out in the Lok Sabha after Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi attempted to quote from an unpublished memoir of former Army chief M. M. Naravane during the Motion of Thanks to the President’s address. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP MPs objected strongly, accusing Gandhi of misleading the House.

Speaker Om Birla repeatedly disallowed the reference, leading to prolonged disruptions and an eventual adjournment.
