I'm cleaning up my vintage electronics horde and decided to review a few gems that are making their way to recycling. In this video we do a teardown of my US Robotics Sportster External 33.6 Faxmodem and a Network Printer Server which converted older USB-based printers to network capability. Today most multi-function printers have fax send/receive capability and most printers are network enabled. Nobody uses dial-up modems anymore. They may have niche uses for some remote-monitoring applications. Since I don't have the time or gear to properly test any of this stuff and I'm not sure if it still fully works on modern phone lines or systems, it's time to retire them to the electronics graveyard. They will be sadly missed.
